142 IND IMPROVE ELECTRIC MOTOR MAINTENANCE 

This course is designed to enhance the technical expertise of electricians, mechanics, maintenance personnel, operators, technicians, engineers, etc., that are associated with electric motors.
Our teaching methods include heavy class participation, visual aids, texts, and actual components. Our instructors have many years of experience and take a non-intimidating, no-nonsense approach in their presentation. Attendees should bring note-taking material. This course is a minimum 16-hour course.

Overall Objectives: The objective of this course is to accommodate all personnel that are involved with AC motors, whether in general maintenance, to replacing bearings on the shop floor , or to send a burned out motor to a competent motor repair facility.

I. What You Will Learn
A. The ins and outs of a motor rewind.
B. Develop your own specifications for a major overhaul or rewind.
C. What insulation system that will be required for the application.
D. Develop a quality assurance program on all your motors that will be sent out for repair.
E. Implement a case history of each of your motors. (Trending)
F. Develop a condition found report form so that you will know everything from shaft
Run-out to bearing measurements to core length.
G. Learn of your vendor's quality assurance program.

II. In House Testing of Your Electrical Apparatus
A. Develop your own in house specifications.
B. Complete diagnostics procedures.
C. No load testing.
